Dhaulagiri Round Trek

Dhaulagiri is an exceptional area to trek in western Nepal. It has 8 summits surpassing 8000m each. Separated from the Annapurna region by the Kali Gandaki River the range of 6 Dhaulagir is (7268 to 8167m), massif includes more than 30 peaks between 6000 and 8000m. It was closed to trekkers for some time but now the region was reopened. We can approach the Dhaulagiri range by Tansen, capital of Magar people, a most ethnic of Nepal before the unification in 1742.

Dhorepatan is located in the midst of the wilderness. Close to it, some Tibetan refugees go around in search of mineral stones and medicinal plants near a small monastery. The panorama to the ranges of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna are indeed exceptional as a balcony which we follow during this trip. High grassland and the descents to forested rhododendron follows the trail to MyagdiKhola. Throughout the trek, you are surrounded by the colossal peaks of the north face of the Dhaulagiri I. Much of the route is on snow and glaciers as it crosses French Pass (5240m), traverses the head of a hidden valley and crosses Thapa pass (5250m).In this region, the trek can be done 14 days to 22days.
