Langtang Valley trek

Langtang valley trek is popularly known as the valley of glaciers trekking in langtang region trekking . It is located in close proximately of genet snow-capped Himalayan range with incredible glaciers lake. It is situated around 19 miles from the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. Which is the nearest destination from Kathmandu as an unspoiled Langtang trekking region. It is dominated by Mt. Langtang Lirung 7246m and national parks with verities of flora and fauna like: Monkey, Pika, National birds the colorful Danphe, Himalayan Black Bear, Snow Leopard, Wild Dog, Ghoral, Serow and more than 250 species of birds, besides this, Oak, Chir Pine, Maple fir, Hemlock, wild orchids and many more. Especially Langtang national park is a home for Red Panda and Musk Deer.

Langtang valley trek is one of popular and less crowded destination among the other trekking destination in Nepal near the capital city. Valley trekking trail push towards the narrow valley, it lies on the lap of the main Himalayan range to the north bordered of Tibet and slightly lower belt of snowy peaks to the southern side. Trek is not only of adventure or hike to observe Himalayan ranges, valley, glaciers for the traveler. The trekking trail also provides an unimaginable opportunity for the traveler to explore the unspoiled Tibetan and Tamang culture, rituals and history, rural lifestyle, ancient trade route, vivid cultural people, different historical and cultural monument like ancient temples, monasteries (Kyangjin Gompa) and many more.

Langtang valley is like as the local Tibetan village with the natural wonders of ancient Buddhist. The meandering trekking rout is serenity and more off-the-beaten trail experiences through some fascinatingly remote and relatively unpopulated areas the different small scenic villages, rivers, magnificent green landscape Hills and farmlands, splendid waterfalls, pine forest swift mountain streams, rugged rock and grassy down and meadows strewed with daisies and wild animals making the trek incredible. While we reach at valley it offers marvelous Himalayan views of Langtang region, sacred lake Gosainkunda (4,300 m (14,100 ft.)) and the Dorje Lakpa range (6,988 m (22,927 ft.) bisect the park from east-west to southeast and bunch of peaks. During our trek we will also visit the local yak cheese factory 4633m and one of the get way of our neighbor country Tibet, China.

Our first leg of the journey starts from the scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. And it is also one of the gaetway for other trekking destination in Langtang like, Tamang Heritage Trail, helambu trek and so on. It will take around 7 hrs. to cover our road trip. The road is a quite adventurous for us in vertiginous mountain roads at our first day and the second day the origin point of the trek is Syabrubesi, From here our trail lead through on the bank of river, forest to the east. It’s gorgeous, then pass the first suspension bridge swing over the river, picturesque little villages, spot a cannabis bush, lots of cactus, and walk along a torrent until we reach an overnight stay at Lama Hotel in the third day. On the next day, we will arrive at Langtang valley. This destination makes wonder with a combination of natural wonders, local Tibetan village, and their lifestyle.

Our final destination of Langtang valley trek is Kyanjin Gompa. A day leisure we will explore the historical monument ancient Buddhist monastery and glaciers in this region, in the leisure day we will roaming in and around landscape gets truly majestic surrounded by the high peaks of the Himalayas. The village is spread out on the valley with splendid wood and stone carve houses. It makes for travel Unbreakable to believe was it is real with this heaven. From the Kyangjin Ri (4350m/14268 ft.) we will get breathtaking get 360-degree mountain views of this range. Then descending towards the Ghoda Tabela, another day continues ahead to Syabrubesi and drives back to Kathmandu.

In spring and autumn is the best time for this trek. It falls from March to May and Sep to Nov where we can observe the different species of national flower of Nepal rhododendron blooming in the forest, magnificent crystal clear mountains views. But in the monsoon season, it is a rainy season so we should have a raincoat. However, in winter the weather is cold and occasional snowfall over 4000m but we have clear mountain views and the trekking trail is relatively icy and slippery.

During the April earth quake 2015 this region is most affected and the most structure devastated due to the avalanche and the many local people and traveler loss their lives in this natural disaster. But now Langtang has slowly revived as a normal. The trial is safe now.
