Langtang Valley trek/langtang trek/langtang valley trail

Langtang Valley trek starts from lower of the valley through, its forests and among the villages and farmlands of its people, many of who are of Tibetan origin. Once an important trading route with Tibet, this influence is reflected in the character of the villages and peoples. During the trek, you will be walking through National Park, and wildlife habitat is never easy to spot in a forest setting, you can get an opportunity to see wild animals and birds. Among those found inside the park are monkeys, musk deer, pika and Lophophorus national bird Nepal the colorful danphe.

 

From Langtang village, the track continues to Kyangjin Gompa (3,740 m). This is the site of the Yala Cheese Factory. There is a STOL airstrip at Chhaldang, a short distance east of Kyangjin. Visiting the Yala Cheese Factory (4.633 m) and the small lakes beyond Yala are worthwhile. Yala can be reached within half a day from Kyangjin Gompa. From Kyangjin Gompa, a continuation to the pastures of Langsisa (4.084 m) provides the attractive views of numerous glaciers. There are some huts in Langsisa that can be reached within one day's walk from Kyangjin Gompa.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Kathmandu

At your arrival at a Tribhawn international airport, Kathmandu our office representative from Alfresco Adventure Travel wait for you outside at Arrival gate with your Name card. Our team will welcome and collect your all baggage at the airport. By formal introduction with the representative, you will be transferred to your hotel. In the evening you will enjoy complimentary welcome dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with Nepalese cuisine. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2

Sightseen Kathmandu and pre-trek preparation.

After breakfast, our office representative and your trekking guide will meet you on the hotel and discuss about all programs and coordinate any last-minute arrangements. After the staff meeting, one of our professional tour guides will take you on a sightseeing trip and then back to the hotel. Rest of the day can be used for traveling around Thamel and buying any last minute equipment and other necessities.

Day 3

Drive to Sybru Beshi (1462 M).

After a hearty breakfast, our begin journey began towards Langtang region. Approximately 6-7 hours’ drive from Kathmandu to the north takes you to the Syabrubenshi village. You may enjoy the scenic drive along the Trishuli river edges. Once you reach Syabrubeshi, you can take time relaxing or explore around.

Day 4

Trek to Lama Hotel

After early morning heavy breakfast start our trek, in the first will be to cross the Bhote Koshi River and chase the trail upstream along the Langtang Khola. An hour or two uphill hike will take you to bamboo village and Rimche and then it will take couple of hours to reach the Lama Hotel, the local landmark. You might even get a glimpse of Red Panda or Macaque monkeys in route.

Day 5

Trek to Langtang Valley

Today our trek ascend slowly towards Langtang Valley. Pleasant hike through the rhododendron and pine forest around 3 hours hike will take you at Ghoda Tabela. The final stop of the day will be at the Langtang village, which is in close proximity to Langtang Lirung.

Day 6

Trek to Kyanjin Gompa

Kyanjin Gompa is a local Buddhist monument and most revered by the locals in Langtang region. To reach at Kayanjing Gompa it will be require 3 to 4 hours of continuous hike. When you reach, you can get an amazing view of the surrounding views from it. You’ll see scenic Mountain Ganchempo and Langtang Lirung. You can spend your time visiting the local yak cheese factory and observe the traditional style production process of cheese, Kyanjin Monastery and the village.

Day 7

Explore around Kyanjin Gompa and Climb Tsego Ri

It’s a spare day at Kyan Gompa. You can take an early morning hike to Tsego Ri (5,150 meters), afterwards, visit Langtang glacier and Langshisha Kharka. The day is well spent.

Day 8

Trek to Ghoda Tabela

After breakfast, you start descending towards the Ghoda Tabela. You return the usual route. You get to revisit the same villages and landscapes you crossed to reach Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 9

Trek to Syabrubesi

It is the final day of the trek. You descend towards the Syabrubeshi, and spent the night to catch an early morning bus to Kathmandu.

Day 10

Syabru Bensi to Kathmandu

It’ll take 6-7 hours of ride to get back to Kathmandu. Once reached, you’ll be transferred to your hotel; and in the evening we will share a complimentary farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with Nepalese cuisine. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11

Final departure.

Today is your last day with us in Nepal. You will escort to the airport for your onward destination with the unforgettable moment of your life from the wonderful Langtang Valley Trek. Our office representative Alfresco Adventure Travel came at your hotel for pick up and drop you at the airport.
