Jomsom Muktinath Trek/Muktinath Trek
Jomsom Muktinath Trek (North of Pokhara) Nepal's spectacular diversity appears at its finest. The deep valleys and high mountains encircling the giant Annapurna Mountain embrace a wide range of peoples and terrain, from subtropical jungle to a high, dry landscape resembling the Tibetan Plateau. Annapurna Nepal region is the most popular trekking region in Nepal with plenty of trekking places, attracting over 75% of all trekkers (more than 30.000 annually). It's also among the tamest areas, with excellent lodges lining the main routes.
Trip Itinerary
Arrival in Kathmandu
At your arrival at a Tribhawn international airport, Kathmandu our representative from Alfresco Adventure Travel wait for you outside at Arrival gate with your Name card. Our team will welcome and collect your baggage at the airport. By formal introduction with the representative and transferred to your hotel. Our representative will brief about your trek program. In the evening you will enjoy complimentary welcome dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with Nepalese cuisine. Overnight at hotel.
Sightseeing at Kathmandu and pre trek preparation
After breakfast, the company owner and your trekking guide will meet you on the hotel and discus about all programs and coordinate any last-minute arrangements. After staff meeting, one of our professional tour guides will take you for a sightseeing trip and then back to the hotel. Rest of the day can be used for travelling around Thamel and buying any last minute equipment and other necessities.
Drive to Pokhara (6 hrs.) from kathmandu
After breakfast we start our onward journey to Pokhara after Scenic 6-7 hours (200km) drive you will encounter different landscape of hills and mountains, climate variation, housing pattern of village people, farming land on a seasonable crops and the highway goes along on the bank of Trishuli river and Marsyangdi river you can see Rafting on that river. Then after you will reach the beautiful and peaceful town Pokhara. Or you may take a 30 min flight to Pokhara enjoying the non-stop mountain scenery and valleys. This option costs an extra $109. A city with a large lake that offers us the magnificent views of various mountains. Dhaulagiri, the whole Annapurna range, Machhapuchre (Fishtail) amongst others. Overnight at hotel.
Flight to Jomsom and Trek to Kagbeni (2800m)
Flight distance: 35 Minutes, hiking distance; 3 hrs. You will take an early flight to Jomsom Which is quite exciting and will be pleased with the scenic beauty of himalayan ranges. You will also see the Annapurna range (8091m), Dhaulagiri (8167m) and many other ranges if the weather is clear enough. You can have breakfast in Jomsom and then you will head to Kagbeni along the Kaligandaki River with the view of Tibetan culture. Overnight at hotel
Trek Kagbeni to Muktinath (3800m)
Our journey starts with a special permit checkup and onwards to the riverbank of Kaligandaki upstream. During the walk, we will have scenic picturesque places to stop by. From Kagbeni the path climbs steeply to re-join the direct trail leading to Khingar at 3200m. The trail climbs through a desert landscape till Jarkot Village. A further climb reaches us to Muktinath. Trek Muktinath to Jomsom (2,715m)
Muktinath is one of most important destination for Hindus pilgrimage. It also held an important place for the Buddhists. In the morning, we visit the Muktinath Temple of the Lord Vishnu. For the Hindus, the region is a "Muktikhsetra" or the region of liberation or salvation. There are water spouts channeled for the stream running above the temple. There is also a Buddhist Monastery nearby. Also, enjoy the magnificent views of Dhaulagiri peak from Muktinath. Muktinath itself demonstrates the religious harmony in Nepal. From Muktinath, we continue back to Jomsom. Overnight at hotel
Fly back to Pokhara from Jomsom
Today we take an early morning flight to Pokhara. Viewing the Annapurna mountain range. Overnight at hotel
Drive or fly back from Pokhara to Kathmandu
We will Drive or fly back to Kathmandu in the afternoon. The left side of the airplane offers some amazing views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will be escorted to our hotel. We enjoy the day leisurely or catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any landmarks we missed during our first day in Kathmandu. In the evening, we will attend a celebratory farewell dinner together. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Final Departure
Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today! Alfresco Adventure representative will drop us off at the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On our way home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.

Foot were: well broken-in, walking shoes, thick socks, light socks, camp shoes.
Clothing : down or fiber filled waterproof, jacket and trousers, sweater or fleece jacket, underwear, warm and cotton trousers or jeans, shirts and T-shirt, shorts, long underwear, wool hat, sun hat, gloves, bathing suit, track suit.
Other equipment: sleeping bag (4 seasons), trekking hold all or stash sack with lock, daypack, water bottle, sun cream, trekking sticks, sunglasses, flashlight with spare bulbs and batteries, lip salve.
